Mission to Hanoi, Vietnam
In January of 2026, Pastor Bill Hartley will be traveling to Southeast Asia to help provide much needed theological education to area churches. He will be working with Lutheran Church - Missiouri Synod missionaries from the Mission of Christ Network (also networked with LINC-International, and the Hmong Mission Society).
Bill will be serving in Hanoi, Vietnam, teaching a group of predominantly Hmong pastors. Many will be traveling from surrounding villages to partake of the classes in Hanoi, while others will be participating by video conferencing.
The content of the instruction will be the foundational theological principles of classical Christianity (e.g., our Lutheran confessions). Southeast Asia can be a challenging place to teach because of the plurality of religious traditions that have left a convoluted heritage of contradicting theological systems. So, each day Bill will unpack one of the five "Solas" ... sola fides, sola gratia, solo scriptura, sola Christus, and sola de gloria. Our hope is to see these churches immersedin-then-connected-to the true, historic, orthodox tradition of our classical faith.
You are invited to join the mission by supporting Pastor Hartley financially. All gifts can be given to Fountain of Life, earmarked "Vietnam Mission". We hope to raise $6,000 for the project, which will include travel expenses, teaching materials, and a generous gift to the mission.
Thank you for supporting "Christ to the World" through Fountain of Life!
They are also working with the local Hmong congregations to start new ministries and plant more churches. During the fiscal year of 2020-2021 alone, the ministry had 639 baptisms, started 13 new ministries, and added 8 new sites to their theological training program.
